Many people may be anxiously awaiting the upcoming release of Diablo III, but I'm personally more excited about the follow-up to the excellent dungeon crawler: Torchlight. There isn't an exact release date, but this opening cinematic from the game is getting me excited for some Action RPG mayhem.

    Torchlight2
Torchlight was the game that got me back into PC gaming. I missed the Diablo craze, but when Torchlight was on stale on Steam, I decided to take my first plunge into the Action/RPG dungeon crawler arena. I sank an obscene amount of time in this game and still play the original even though I know that the sequel is looming on the horizon.

Runic Games, the developer, just announced that Torchlight 2 will cost $20, a small price to play for the experience. The only question left is when exactly in 2011 the game will finally come out. Whenever it is, it won't be soon enough.

I bought Torchlight on a whim when Steam came out on the Mac. I'd never played a dungeon-crawler, but I became addicted to this Action/RPG built by a team of seasoned vets who worked on games like Diablo and Mythos. The game features fast-paced action, beautiful visuals, and a fun character system that offers a perfect blend of game play.

PC Gamer has an interview with the creators as well as the first concept art. The sequel will feature outdoor levels, online multiplayer coop, new classes of characters, and a bevy of other welcome additions. Since I am nearing the completion of the single player campaign, this news comes at the perfect time.

The site for the newly-announced title can be found here.
