This trailer for the fictional “Blackstar Warrior” was screened at this year’s Comic-Con, and features a blaxsploitation interpretation of our favorite Cloud City administrator and rebel general. Be sure to watch the trailer closely to catch all of the clever references and jokes as Lando Calrissian sets out across the galaxy to kick some ass and save his lady.

While the Mos Eisley Cantina scene in Star Wars may be a controversial topic of debate because George Lucas changed his mind about who really shot first, this is a funny take from Robot Chicken on the story behind some of the other events that unfolded at the intergalactic watering hole.

Luckily, the New York Comic-Con happened to overlap with my trip to the Big Apple to visit my family and catch up with some old friends. I found a couple of hours on Saturday and rolled over with a fellow geek to witness the con craziness. Here is a video of some people doing a lightsaber stage combat performance. I don’t want to think about how many hours of practice went into this…

So it seems like Hasbro is getting into the “designer toy” game. They have a new toy series called “Mighty Muggs” that looks equally at home in Wal-Mart as it does in Kidrobot. I started getting into this style when I moved to LA, and I guess most cool sub-cultures are destined to be appropriated by more commercial establishments. It wasn’t long ago that the legal chums at Epic threatened to sue someone over a custom “Munny” depicting Marcus Fenix from the game”Gears of War”.

Either way, the picture above is from a new Marvel line coming out in March. You can see the current “Star Wars” series on the Hasbro website.
