The Sonic series is getting yet another reboot, and hopefully this will be the one that sticks. Like the previous Sonic 4, Sonic Generations is an attempt to get back to the hedgehog's roots by bringing back classic gameplay and styling with a 3D flair. I was always a big fan of the blue blur, since I spent my 16-bit years with a Genesis, so I'm hoping that this title brings back the franchises former glory.

Sony announced at its Gamescom keynote that it will be releasing a 99 euro PSP this fall. The new console features a refined design (that I think looks great) but will be curiously lacking wifi. It seems like that omission is a bit odd, since now players can't access any PSN functionality or purchase digital titles. It seems like this new model is meant to help Sony clear the shelves of UMD's gathering dust.

My first experience with the amazing God Of War series was actually on my PSP. I'm now enjoying the PS3 remakes of the first two games in preparation of delving into the third. God of War: Origins is a new compilation pack that will include remakes of the original portable titles in glorious HD. This project is not a simple upscaling, but will include new artwork, assets in more. Check out this video to see what is in store.
From the looks of it, I think that both players who have never played the excellent Ready at Dawn-developed titles and players who have enjoyed those excellent PSP games will have a reason to open their wallets when the game launches on September 13th.
