It seems like Zynga's latest Facebook game, Adventure World, is getting rebranded. Players now are shown the new moniker: "Adventure World - An Indiana Jones Game". I've been enjoying the game since it launched, so hopefully this is a sign of more good things to come.

I don't know if this was Zynga reaching out to Lucas Arts to help spur growth, since the game only got 400,000 players in its first week, which might be good for many games, but was most likely not the user levels Zynga was expecting. On the other hand, perhaps Lucas Arts felt that this was an easy opportunity to help the Indiana Jones brand reach the casual gaming audience. After all, it probably needs some rehabilitation after the last film.

Regardless of the motives, it seems that our favorite archeologist will be coming to the game himself in October. You can find the game here.

I just received a prompt when I logged-in to Facebook asking me to go through a process to reestablish my interests.  Facebook introduced their new profile feature that links all of my interests and likes to new hub pages.  Before, it used to just run a search on that term to show me other people who shared that interest.  This move is certainly an attempt to create community around people's passions, and evolves the social network beyond just being a place where friends connect with each other to a destination where I can discover and discuss my interests.  While the pages for each linked interest are pretty sparse now, they do hint at future wiki-style collaboration around the content.

I'm sure that this change is part of their larger strategy around semantically marking up pages to describe their content with the new Open Graph Protocol, and these new destinations will surely be well-optimized to generate traffic from search engines. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing how this change to the way my topical interests exist in Facebook will evolve into a more mature product.
