Pizza_tracker
I have the (un)fortunate pleasure of having my fair bit of Dominos Pizza delivered, mostly because on certain nights I find myself suffering from such extreme laziness that I can pretty much only muster enough motivation to procure my dinner online. As of late, when Dominos started their new "You got 30 minutes" ad campaign, there is this new "Pizza Tracker" shown after placing an online order.

The tracker is eerily reminiscent of another hyper-aware pizza preparation tracking service: the boxes carried by Deliverators for Coasta Nostra. For the uninitiated, Coasta Nostra Pizza is the name of the company that employs Hiro Protagonist, the lead character in Neal Stephenson's steampunk novel Snow Crash. In the book, the pizza box features a 30-minute countdown timer to track the allowed delivery window, and if the driver is late, a helicopter will appear and the owner himself, Uncle Enzo, will manifest to personally apologize to the perturbed customer.

Now, Dominos' "Pizza Tracker" may not carry such weight in the delivery world as Coasta Nostra's boxes, but I'm looking forward to the day where a delayed pizza brings such dire consequences.  After all, when I'm feeling so lethargic that I can't be bothered to go out for food, it's not like I should have to exhibit the patience to sit through more than one episode of TV while waiting.
