Yahoo! Media Player Wordpress Plugin
To install:
- unzip the file
- drag the created folder it into: wp-content/plugins
- activate the plugin from the ‘Plugins’ tab by selecting the ‘Yahoo! Media Player’
- choose where the code should be placed (header or footer). placement in the footer may improve page load times, but may not work with certain themes.
- change the version of the player through the ‘Yahoo! Media Player’ section under ‘Options’ (optional)
- enter in your Amazon affiliate ID (optional)
- add audio links to your page. for example, something like:
Link to Audio (note: this is not an actual file, but just shows the format of a proper link) - the player will detect these audio links, render a play button next to the media, and include the media in the playlist
- enjoy :-)

can i somehow remove the ‘cart’ and link to amazon?
also, can i change the colors?
thanks!
i’m sorry, but it isn’t possible through the plugin. i’d recommend checking yahoo’s own documentation and group for info.
tahank you perfect media player
Man, I’ve tried reverbnation, soundclick, myspace and other music players to integrate on my site and I dislike them all!
I have always admired the simplicity of the Yahoo music player and now I’ve discovered this plug-in I’ll ALWAYS use it.
Thanks 8 Bit Kid!
i’m so glad you like it and that it works for you! thanks for the kind words.
hey, the media player will only work on my site in the Mozilla Firefox browser, not Safari or Chrome. On those sites it just shows constant buffering. I tried putting the settings from header to footer and from stable to most recent but nothing worked. Do you have any ideas?
is there a URL you can share for the site on which you are having issues with browser compatibility?
i tried posting my link but it was deleted…just click on my name i guess.
i just tested in in Chrome and Safari on my Mac, and both worked fine for me, so it must be machine-specific, unfortunately.
alright…well thanks anyways
