The Rebuild of Evangelion series is a retelling and reimagining of the seminal anime masterpiece's mind-expanding plot. Over the past several years Gainax (the studio behind the originals) has been releasing new feature films that explore the original story and expand upon it, all while making it more accessible and offerring copious amounts of visual eye candy. The third entry in the four part series has been announced for fall 2012. I found the first two films to be highly enjoyable while also not taking away from the original series, and am looking forward to the next installment.
